On the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day, which commemorates the end of the Great Patriotic War, employees from the Volgograd Research Institute of Rosneft participated in landscaping activities at the Battle of Stalingrad Historical and Memorial Museum-Reserve. The institute's team have cleared the site and planted pine saplings on the legendary slopes of Russia's main hill.
The Mamayev Kurgan and “To the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” Memorial Complex stand as a testament to the indomitable courage and resilience of the Soviet people during one of the most fateful periods of the Great Patriotic War. The indomitable city of Stalingrad is renowned the world over as a legendary city, and its main hill serves as a poignant reminder of the thousands of fallen heroes. Each tree planted here symbolises our deepest respect and pays homage to the memory of generations past.
The institute's volunteers have revived the tradition and now take part every year in the landscaping and planting of the memorial complex. To date, they have planted over 350 coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs on Mamayev Kurgan. The greenery forms the natural framework of the memorial, emphasising its grandeur and solemnity.
It is a great honour for all participants in this event to make a personal contribution to the improvement of this sacred place and to pay tribute to the immortal deeds of the fallen heroes. We remember! We are proud!
