Rosneft Provided Equipment for Training Laboratories at Yugra’s Main University

Samotlorneftegaz (part of Rosneft’s oil production complex) provided equipment for two training laboratories at the Multidisciplinary College of Yugra State University. The project was implemented under an agreement between Rosneft and the Government of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra.
The Laboratory for Assessment of Chemical and Physical Quality of Oil and Gas is equipped as closely as possible to the chemical analysis laboratories operating in the Samotlor field. It is equipped with sets of digital instruments for measuring density, molecular weight, fractional composition of oily liquids and other modern analytical equipment. Cabinets are fitted with an intake and exhaust system to ensure safety standards. The laboratory is equipped with special industrial furniture made of modern materials.
The second laboratory for training students in oil and gas processing includes a simulator of a primary oil processing unit, a virtual training complex with three-dimensional models of catalytic cracking and a cutting edge communications room.
Samotlorneftegaz also upgraded a block of three classrooms with improved technical communications. The lecture theatre, which seats 140 students, is equipped with new professional multimedia equipment, including video conferencing.
Rosneft focuses on supporting educational, social, cultural and outreach projects.
Samotlorneftegaz actively builds and equips modern laboratory complexes in the region’s educational institutions. Earlier, a computer room with an interactive simulator of well development and operation was opened at the Nizhnevartovsk branch of the Tyumen Industrial University. Laboratories have been set up for the physical and chemical study of oil and gas, and for electrical and electronic engineering. A simulator of a primary oil processing unit for the Oil and Gas Refining speciality was purchased for the Oil Institute. The Nizhnevartovsk Construction College implemented a project to introduce a laboratory for geospatial technologies.
