Employees of RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft’s largest oil production asset, planted more than 4.8 million conifer seedlings in the 2024 growing season. This is 41% more than last year’s figure. The landscaping area amounted to about 1,300 hectares.
Forest restoration activities took place in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, including in the areas of Agan, Urai and Samarovsky forestries affected by natural fires. Planted conifers of 1-3 years of age (common pine, Siberian spruce, cedar pine) are adapted to local climatic conditions. The company actively co-operates with forestry to ensure quality care and monitoring of these trees.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company implements large-scale environmental programmes aimed at minimising environmental impact, improving the eco-friendly production, and preserving and replenishing natural ecosystems.
RN-Yuganskneftegaz is increasing its environmental activities in the region and actively cooperates with the District Government in implementing programmes aimed at protecting biodiversity and restoring natural resources. Over the last three years, more than 9.5 million seedlings of coniferous species have already been planted, and more than 51 million fry of valuable fish species have been released into the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin.
