Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission on the Strategy for the Development of the Fuel and Energy Industry and Environmental Safety, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft Oil Company Igor Sechin and Director of the National Energy Administration of China Zhang Jianhua have signed a provision on the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum.
The document was signed in the presence of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping during the state visit of the Chinese leader.
The Forum was established upon an initiative of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China to exchange opinions and develop energy cooperation between Russian and Chinese enterprises, financial institutions, associations, think-tanks, and R&D organisations.
The Forum is coordinated by the Presidential Commission on the Strategy for the Development of the Fuel and Energy Industry and Environmental Safety and the National Energy Administration of China.
The first Forum took place last November in Beijing and became a significant event for the development of the energy dialogue between Russia and China. Currently, it is a permanent institution that will contribute to the implementation of promising joint projects, development of a transparent and constructive dialogue between business and government bodies of Russia and China.
