Rosneft Provides Centralised Water Supply for 90,000 Residents of Bashkortostan

25 September 2026

Bashneft (a subsidiary of Rosneft) has completed a major three-year programme to modernise drinking water supply systems in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The project was implemented in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Bashkortostan and Rosneft. Strategic infrastructure projects have provided access to high-quality, centrally supplied water for over 90,000 people in nine districts of the republic and within the Ufa urban district.

The programme was initiated to address residents' needs, particularly in settlements where there were issues with interruptions to the water supply and the dilapidated state of the networks, which made it difficult to guarantee a stable and safe drinking water supply. The completion of the modernisation programme has resulted in a significant transformation, providing the local population with reliable access to a vital resource and creating comfortable living conditions.

The work covered both major cities and rural areas. The programme involved upgrading main water pipes, constructing modern water supply systems, refurbishing street and distribution networks, and comprehensively renovating municipal infrastructure. This comprehensive approach has increased the reliability of the water supply, stabilised the pressure in the network and significantly improved water quality for tens of thousands of residents.

A key focus of the Company's social policy has been the implementation of a programme to improve the condition of natural springs in the city of Ufa and throughout the republic. This initiative has not only improved the public's access to natural sources of clean water, but has also led to the comprehensive development of public spaces, creating new attractions for the region's residents.

Rosneft is systematically involved in the social and economic development of its operating regions. In 2017, a cooperation agreement was launched between Bashkortostan and Rosneft, with the aim of developing industrial, financial, and social programs in the region. Over the past eight years, the implementation of projects supported by Bashneft has led to the provision of high-quality drinking water to over 140,000 residents of Bashkortostan.
