Rosneft Conducts a Series of Environmental Campaigns in Yugra

25 September 2026

During the summer and autumn, employees at Rosneft's enterprises in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra participated in environmental initiatives. These initiatives were aimed at conserving the region's natural areas, water resources and biodiversity. Oil workers were instrumental in cleaning up river and lake banks, enhancing popular leisure areas, sorting waste, and replenishing aquatic biological resources.

As part of the Water of Russia environmental campaign, which is a large-scale nationwide initiative, RN-Nyaganneftegaz staff cleared the riverbank and the surrounding area of the Nyagan-Yugan River. The volunteers paid particular attention to popular leisure spots and hard-to-reach stretches of the shoreline. The total area cleaned was over 10 hectares, and nearly 1 tonne of waste was collected.

The Samotlorneftegaz workforce also organised a large-scale community clean-up day. A total of 220 individuals participated in the clean-up of Lake Kymyl-Emtor, a popular recreational area for residents of Nizhnevartovsk and the Nizhnevartovsk District. The environmental event took the form of a plogging run. The participants covered a 10-kilometre distance in total and collected over 30 cubic metres of rubbish. The sorted plastic was sent for recycling.

The programme was complemented by a team waste sorting activity, an interactive game and themed tasks. Samotlorneftegaz has been involved in coastal zone management in the Kymyl-Emtor area. Gazebos, waste bins and information boards have been installed on the lake shore, and the enterprise's staff regularly clean up the area and maintain the recreational facilities.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz staff organised an environmental cleanup campaign on the town beach by the Akopas Channel near Nefteyugansk. The campaign also took the form of a plogging run, with some staff members clearing the shoreline whilst others collected rubbish from the water on stand-up paddleboards.

Following the event, 150 kg of waste was collected and removed. The waste was categorised and then dispatched for further sorting. Employees' children participated in the initiative, which integrated environment-oriented work with environmental education for younger generations.

Environmental volunteering represents a permanent direction of activity for Rosneft's enterprises in Yugra. The employees are encouraged to contribute to the improvement of public spaces, landscaping, and the cleaning of natural areas and the separate collection of waste
