Rosneft Hosts Sports Tourism Competition to Mark the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia

26 August 2026

Rosneft hosted a corporate sports tourism competition on the shores of Lake Baikal. The event brought together oil workers from 17 of the Company's subsidiaries across various regions of the country.

Rosneft promotes a culture of healthy living and fully supports sports. As part of the Energy of Life programme, the Company's staff participate in major sporting events, including marathons, international triathlon competitions, family sports events, the GTO Festival and many others.

The sports tourism competitions took place at the Utulik leisure centre, a social facility run by the Angarsk Petrochemical Company. The competition programme comprised four stages: a hike, a water rafting challenge, an orienteering event and a guided hiking route. The organisers introduced a new feature: participants did not cover the walking route individually, but in groups.

In order to successfully complete the route, participants were required to demonstrate proficiency in a range of skills, including orienteering, first aid, knot-tying, and the interpretation of topographical symbols. The referees evaluated the teams' performance, assessing the accuracy of their completion of each stage of the competition and recording their fastest times.

The competition was won by the RN-Proektirovaniye Dobycha team, comprising participants from Ufa and Tomsk, who excelled in the guided hiking route, the rafting event and the orienteering event. The Angarsk Petrochemical Company team achieved second place, while the RN-Vankor team from Krasnoyarsk received third.

The winning teams, as well as the individual winners, were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts. The organisers demonstrated meticulous preparation and organisation for the competitions, ensuring the availability of the necessary sports equipment. The participants went on an excursion to Lake Baikal, the jewel of Siberia. The most intrepid individuals among them ventured into the frigid waters of the world's deepest lake. Following a few days full of challenges, it was customary for the tourists to gather around the campfire, singing songs on guitar and sharing their experiences.

Sport tourism competitions contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the fostering of team spirit and the popularisation of active travel across our country.
