Rosneft has established an Onshore Drilling Competence Centre at Tyumen Industrial University. This new facility is the only one of its kind, offering comprehensive training for specialists in well drilling and workover operations.
The Centre is equipped with five specialist rooms, which feature cutting-edge Russian training simulators. The simulator replicates real drilling conditions and the workstations of the driller and his assistant, as well as those of the engineering and technical staff. All multimedia solutions have been developed by local developers, ensuring technological independence and compliance with current industry standards.
These simulators enable trainees to develop and refine their skills in pulling and running operations, throttle control, surface equipment operation, and coordination within the drilling crew during operations. Trainees will have the opportunity to practise over 30 real-life scenarios in a variety of geological conditions.
The Competence Centre will provide training opportunities for university students on an annual basis, as well as professional development for employees of Rosneft's subsidiaries and specialist service organisations.
RN-Uvatneftegaz (Rosneft subsidiary) provided organisational support for the project. The enterprise's specialists played an active role in developing the Centre's concept, testing the training facilities and designing the educational programmes to address current operational challenges.
As part of the Rosneft 2030 Strategy, the Company support government initiatives aimed at developing the country's education system and human resources potential. Rosneft is investing in the creation of unique educational centres and setting professional standards by incorporating cutting-edge scientific developments into the educational process.
