Rosneft Organises Tour to Corporate Research Centre for Gubkin University Master's Students

13 March 2026

Rosneft's Research and Development Centre organised a tour of the laboratories specialising in catalytic oil refining processes for master's students at the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.

During the tour, students gained insight into the processes and features involved in the development and production of modern catalysts, which play a crucial role in oil refining to produce various types of fuels and oils. The students were shown the catalyst testing facilities, much of the equipment for which is manufactured in the university's own workshops and assembled by laboratory staff.

The Centre's scientists also presented a range of catalysts for winter and Arctic diesel fuels and high-octane petrol. They shared their experience of developing these catalysts from concept to implementation.

The tour generated interest in internships and employment opportunities at the research centre. The Company's youth policy is centred on providing career guidance, identifying, supporting and developing talented young people.

Rosneft's Research and Development Centre organises regular tours of its laboratories for students from relevant universities, Rosneft class students and activists from the Movement of the Firsts. These tours offer students an insight into the profession from their school days. University students are presented with the opportunity to undertake practical training in laboratories and other departments, under the guidance of experienced mentors. This provides them with the chance to gain valuable practical experience, demonstrate their abilities and, potentially, secure employment even before they graduate.

For reference:

Over 200 students of the Gubkin University do practical training and undertake the internship in Rosneft annually. The best students and promising lecturers are awarded with corporate grants and scholarships. Furthermore, university students actively participate in Rosneft's scientific and technical conferences for young professionals, and the top students from Rosneft classes in the regions where the Company operates go on to study at Gubkin RSU after graduating from school. Currently, over 140 Rosneft classes graduates study in the university.
