Rosneft has unveiled a historical and cultural project for car tourists, dedicated to the life of the eminent Russian surgeon and professor of medicine V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky, later known as Saint Luke. A museum exhibition dedicated to the life of this legendary figure is on display in the village of Bolshaya Murta in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This location forms part of the Krasnoyarsk–Yeniseysk tourist route,
which was presented by Rosneft and the Krasnoyarsk Territory Tourism Agency last year.
The project was unveiled at Rosneft's new flagship filling station in Krasnoyarsk. The Company is committed to the development of domestic automobile tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for car travellers. The new facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a state-of-the-art filling station capable of simultaneously filling six vehicles with high-quality fuel, including the proprietary Pulsar-95.
The Zerno café offers visitors a varied menu, including coffee, hot dogs, burgers, pastries and a wide range of ready-made meals.
With the support of Rosneft, a new exhibition dedicated to the life of Saint Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky), a world-renowned surgeon, scientist and spiritual writer, has opened at the Bolshemurtinsky Local History Museum this year. Among the most valuable exhibits are authentic artefacts that capture the spirit of the era and tell
a personal story in which two vocations – medicine and faith – came together.
The highly skilled doctor Valentin Feklisovich Voino-Yasenetsky has experienced significant challenges in his professional career. He has worked as a surgeon in both local hospitals and military hospitals. He combined his medical practice with academic work, drawing on his extensive practical experience. In the 1920s, V.F. Voino-Yasenetsky, a surgeon whose scientific work had already gained recognition from the medical community, took monastic vows under the name of Luke.
During the Great Patriotic War, whilst in exile, he saved thousands of lives. He operated on the wounded and served as chief consultant to all military hospitals in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
In addition to the primary exhibition dedicated to Saint Luke, the museum's staff members organise guided tours of the sites associated with Voino-Yasenetsky. These sites include the temple, the church, and the district hospital where he worked during the Great Patriotic War.
The spring of Saint Luke is particularly popular, and was historically used by Voino-Yasenetsky to prepare medicines.
The Bolshemurtinsky Local History Museum holds a collection of over three thousand items, including works of art, archaeological discoveries, coins, natural history specimens and ethnographic artefacts. For instance, the World of the Siberian Village exhibition hall provides an insight into the history of the settlement of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the customs, traditions and rituals of the local peasantry.
