20 March 2026

The 33rd Troitsky Ski Marathon took place on Sakhalin, with the support of Sakhalinmorneftegaz-Shelf (Rosneft subsidiary). The tournament attracted almost 1,000 competitors, including skiers from Sakhalin Region and various other parts of the Far East.

This year, the marathon has been elevated to a new status, as it has been included in the prestigious RussiaLoppet national race series. This large-scale project promotes skiing, brings together amateurs and professionals in mass-start events, and encourages participants to travel across Russia.

The Troitsky Marathon track is characterised by varied terrain and passes through picturesque locations, including along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. The starting point is located in the village of Troitskoye, offering panoramic views of the mountain range stretching along the Susunai Valley. Distances range between 200 metres and 50 kilometres, making the programme suitable for athletes of all ages and levels of fitness. Particular attention is being paid to the younger generation, for whom a range of races from 200 metres to 3 kilometres have been organised. The marathon has also made provisions for physically challenged participants, with special 1- and 2-kilometre routes set up for them.

More than 200 athletes from the professional skiing community participated in the 25 km and 50 km endurance events. The Sakhalinmorneftegaz-Shelf employees also demonstrated a high level of fitness on the course; they take part in the marathon every year and share the values of a healthy lifestyle.
