Specialists at the Company’s Tomsk Research Institute have developed a 3D model of Russia’s largest oil pumping station, which is the largest of its kind in terms of area and capacity.
The station will include a tank farm, pumping units, water treatment facilities, and a fire station, comprising a total of over 480 buildings and structures, 280,000 structural elements, and 75,000 pieces of technological equipment. The total length of the facility’s pipelines will be 130 km, and the length of the cable lines will be 1,500 km.
The facility has been designed to transport over 100 million tons of oil per year and will cover an area of 100 hectares.
The station’s “digital twin” was created entirely using domestic software and contains over 5 million 3D elements, each of which is linked to detailed information about its dimensions, relevance to specific construction stages, materials, regulatory documentation, etc.
Rosneft is one of the market leaders in the field of 3D design. The Company has designed hundreds of facilities by using information modelling technologies.
Rosneft regularly organises information modelling championships and competitions among its employees. These events are designed to facilitate the mastery of new technologies, the identification of optimal solutions and the replication of successful practices.
