Thematic Rosneft Days were organized for university students as part of the celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO University (MIEP MGIMO).
Representatives from Rosneft's Head Office and research institutes spent two days briefing students on the company's projects. Students attended lectures on topics relevant to the global energy agenda, such as climate change, renewable energy use, sustainable development, carbon management, and climate project implementation. Students were also informed about the Company's unique experience in conducting scientific expeditionary work in the Arctic, as well as fuel evolution and petrochemical synthesis.
The event organisers held master classes and a business game for visitors to the Company's thematic days, as well as showed educational films about Rosneft's activities. In addition, candidates for admission to the master's programme of the main department were also selected, followed by an internship at Rosneft. Fifty MIEP applicants participated in the selection process.
In May, one of Rosneft's key partners - the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia - celebrates its 25th anniversary. Cooperation with the institute, which has been developing for more than 20 years, is comprehensive and involves working with talented young people, retraining and professional development of the Company's employees, implementation of the Company's educational cooperation with foreign universities, development of the institute's educational infrastructure, support for students and teachers, as well as research work.
Rosneft was the first energy company to establish a basic department at MIEP called Global Energy Policy and Energy Security, which has been operating since 2007. The department offers a master's programme in Energy Strategies of International Oil and Gas Companies. The programme curriculum includes practice-oriented courses in specialised disciplines and a two-year internship for students in the Company's relevant departments. Annually 10 students are admitted to the master's programme.
More than 160 master's students have completed long-term internships at Rosneft since the base department was established. The best master's degree graduates are employed by the Company following their internship.
The Rosneft Corporate Training Center, established at MIEP, offers more than 20 unique professional development programs in various fields, such as regional studies, international law, economics, finance, and others. These programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the company. To date, over 4,000 employees of Rosneft have been trained at this center.
High-potential and promising employees of the Company who are part of the candidates pool are trained under the corporate Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, specialising in International Business in the Oil and Gas Industry. Over 200 managers and personnel from Rosneft have completed the program.
Rosneft is working with MIEP to develop cooperation with foreign universities.

Rosneft works with 203 partner educational organisations, including 75 Russian universities. Work with educational institutions is carried out within the framework of the "School - College/University - Enterprise" corporate system of continuous education, which has been in place since 2005. This system ensures a constant inflow of young, highly trained specialists to the Company.
