20 November 2024

With the support of Bashneft, a Rosneft subsidiary, a fully renovated social and cultural centre has opened in Kamenka village in the Bijbuliak district of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The facility, which covers over 1,000 square metres, was rebuilt as part of the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the region.

Built in the 1950s, the Kamensky House of Culture needed radical upgrading. The upgraded building now features a large concert hall, a library, a museum dedicated to the history of the village and Mordovan national culture, as well as a kitchen, a costume laboratory and a ceramics room. It is also home to the Mordovan Historical and Cultural Centre of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In addition, there is a gym and a first aid station equipped with all the necessary supplies. The renovated centre has become a popular destination for not only the residents of Kamenka village, but also the wider Bijbuliak district, home to over 20,000 people.

Fifteen associations have resumed their activities at the House of Culture. These include nine amateur folk art groups and theatre groups for children and adults, performing in Russian and Mordovian. The leading group is the Erzya Mordovian folklore ensemble, which has a history spanning more than 65 years. Its creative team has won many awards at festivals and competitions for amateur folk art, including at a national level. Fifteen children are also involved in the centre as part of the younger members of the Erzya ensemble.

Over the past five years, Bashneft has constructed and renovated more than 50 cultural facilities in the republic. This includes constructing a multifunctional rural cultural centre in Karayar village in the Karaidel district, reconstructing the Ilfat Smakov cultural centre in Rapatovo village in the Chekmagushev district, and restoring the historical and cultural centre of the Mari people in Mishkino village in the Mishkinsky district.

Rosneft focuses on supporting educational, social, cultural and outreach projects. Every year, the Company builds and renovates dozens of major facilities in the regions where it operates, significantly improving the standard of living for local populations.
