Rosneft Supports Social Projects for Children and Teenagers in Russian Regions

Within the framework of cooperation agreements with Russian regions, Rosneft and its subsidiaries implement projects aimed at creating modern social infrastructure and fostering a favourable environment for the development of medicine, mass sports, culture, education and the upbringing of young people.

Under a cooperation agreement with the Republic of Bashkortostan, Bashneft supports the construction and reconstruction of children’s institutions. For example, the following projects were completed in 2024: the reconstruction of the Centre for Children’s Creativity in Verkhneyarkeevo village in the Ilishevsky district; the construction of a multifunctional educational centre in Elan-Chishma village in the Ermekeyevsky district; the improvement of Ufa kindergarten No. 2; and the construction of a multifunctional sports and recreation complex on the grounds of the Republican Engineering Boarding Lyceum in Ufa.

As part of Rosneft’s cooperation agreement with the regional government in the Samara region, Samaraneftegaz supported the reconstruction of Schools No. 28 and No. 29 in Syzran, Gymnasium Harmony in Otradnoye, and School No. 24 in Samara. Thanks to the help of oil workers, the Children’s Surgery Department and the Perinatal Centre at Syzran Central City Hospital were able to obtain state-of-the-art equipment. They added an operating table, a shadow lamp for the operating theatre and an open neonatal resuscitation system.

With Rosneft’s support, a new Small Academy of Sciences building was constructed in Yakutia. It features modern laboratories, a biotechnology centre with genomics and ancient DNA laboratories, an IT centre, a library, a TV studio and sports facilities. Playgrounds and sports grounds for children were also opened in Yakutsk, Tas-Yuryakh and Myndyb. The school in the Botuobuyinsky village of the Mirny district, which is sponsored by the local community, has had its robotics, 3D modelling and press centre classrooms renovated, and a stadium and assembly hall have been built.

As part of its agreement with the Government of Ugra, Rosneft is supporting the construction and reconstruction of educational and sports institutions in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District. In 2024, Nizhnevartovsk will open a kindergarten and two youth clubs, «Leader» and «MediaQuant», as well as an outdoor sports and games complex.

RN-Yuganskneftegaz is implementing a comprehensive programme to support children and young people. In 2024, School No. 9 in Khanty-Mansiysk was equipped with modern facilities, including interactive panels and physics teaching equipment. A great deal of attention is being paid to the development of children’s sports. Ten sports schools in Ugra have received almost a thousand pieces of modern hockey equipment, including sticks, skates, and protective helmets. A modern sports complex has opened in the village of Lyamina.

With the Company’s support, the overhaul of the inpatient department at the Krasnoyarsk Regional Centre for Maternity and Childhood Protection No. 2 in Achinsk continues.

An IT project laboratory has opened in Udmurtia, and two sports halls have been renovated at School No. 12 in the town of Votkinsk. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including an interactive panel, a 3D printer and a 3D laser scanner, as well as all the necessary software.

In addition, the Company establishes Rosneft classes in regions where it operates, based on the best educational institutions, such as schools, lyceums and gymnasiums. The project offers students a high-quality general secondary education. Students in Years 10 and 11 study advanced programmes in mathematics, physics, chemistry and information science. The project aims to provide career guidance and motivation for teenagers, encouraging them to study subjects relevant to the company at university, with the intention of subsequently employing graduates at Rosneft enterprises.

During the last academic year, 2,700 schoolchildren studied in 118 Rosneft classes. The project is being implemented across 56 general education organisations in 47 cities and towns across 20 of Russia’s constituent entities.

On the eve of International Children’s Day, volunteers from the Company and its subsidiaries are organising dozens of festive events to promote sport, a healthy lifestyle and cultural and patriotic education among young people.

Kuibyshev Refinery presented an interactive educational project Danger-Free City. Hundreds of children and young people have taken part in the project so far. Children learn the rules of safe behaviour in various life situations, including traffic and the Internet, in a playful format.

Novokuibyshevsk Refinery employees organised a holiday with quizzes dedicated to oil professions for children from the social institutions of the city. Oil refiners annually organise an ecological family festival Ecofest for city residents. This year the festival gathered more than 400 schoolchildren.

Syzran Refinery volunteers brought gifts to pupils of the centre for children without parental care. Samaraneftegaz organised a holiday «Hello, Summer!» for employees’ children with the participation of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, who gave an entertaining safety lesson.

Employees of the Saratov Refinery held an interactive lesson Ecology and Me for kindergarten children and donated sports equipment to the social rehabilitation centre Return.

Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz organised a city football tournament in Krasnoyarsk, which gave 150 children an opportunity to play at a professional stadium. Oil workers in the Krasnoyarsk Territory delivered presents to kindergarten children in the remote village of Kuyumba, overcoming a difficult route by helicopter and special equipment.

Orenburgneft volunteers held a series of eco-lessons as part of the Eco-School environmental marathon, where schoolchildren were told about responsible attitude to the environment.

Tyumenneftegaz organised a big outdoor family weekend with sports games, master classes and treats. Kharampurneftegaz volunteers organised an excursion to the zoo and an environmental quiz for the children of the Siyaniye Severa family centre. Volunteers of the Corporate Institute in Tomsk together with Tomsk Polytechnic University organised a quest game «Oil Journey: from deposit to petrol station» for the city’s schoolchildren. The participants learnt about oil and gas professions in a game form, and as a reward the winners received additional points for admission to university.

Rosneft Research Institute in Ufa implements a Social Tutor volunteer project. For the fifth year in a row, the institute’s employees have been volunteering online with children from low-income families.

Employees of Rosneft-Stavropol together with representatives of the traffic police conducted lessons on road safety for preschool children. At Rosneft’s petrol stations in the Stavropol Territory, young guests were presented with educational books with creative tasks «Travelling with a Polar Bear». In Arkhangelsk, RN-Severo-Zapad organised an informative event Children for Safe Roads, where children learned the rules of the road and had a chance to be a driver.

Employees of Rosneft’s enterprises take an active part in all-Russian and regional campaigns, including the New Year’s Tree of Wishes, Help to Go to School, Give a Child a Holiday, Spring Week of Kindness, Giving Warmth to Children, First-Grader’s Backpack, Getting Ready for School, No Child Is a Stranger, Father Christmas to Every Home, Gift for School, Father Christmas’s Gift, and others.
