With the support of Bashneft (Rosneft subsidiary), the Tuimazy Arena ice rink has received a modern ice filling machine. As part of the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the Republic of Bashkortostan, the sports centre was fitted with new equipment.
The Sergey Gimaev Tuimazy Arena universal ice rink was built with the support of Bashneft. It organises national and inter-regional competitions. The total area of the complex exceeds 10 thousand square metres. In addition to the ice rink and gymnasiums, there is a large athletics track. More than 100 thousand people from different regions of Bashkortostan visit the arena every year.
The new ice filling machine has larger water and snow tanks, which significantly increases the speed of ice resurfacing. The equipment also includes an ice washing system. The machine provides a high quality of filling that meets all the requirements of national and international tournaments.
Supporting mass, children’s and youth sports is one of the key areas of social work of Rosneft and its subsidiaries. The Company funds the construction of ice arenas, sports complexes and multi-purpose sports grounds in the regions of its operations. With Rosneft’s support, dozens of modern large-scale sports facilities have been opened in Russia’s regions. The Company supports projects that develop and promote physical culture and healthy lifestyles.
Earlier, Bashkir oil producers also helped build modern ice palaces in the towns of Kumertau and Oktyabrsky. A well-developed infrastructure and quality equipment allow the palaces to host competitions at various levels throughout the year. Because of their facilities and accessibility, sports grounds are popular with athletes for sports camps and with the general public.
In total, since 2017 Bashneft has helped build and renovate more than 30 major sports facilities in 16 districts of the republic, which are popular with athletes for sports camps and with citizens due to their facilities and accessibility. For example, a world-class skate park was built in the town of Dyurtuli, and the Spartak Stadium, the largest sports facility in western Bashkiria, was built in the town of Tuimazy. In the Blagoveshchensky district, six training pitches were built and opened at the Ufa Falcon sports centre with the support of Bashneft. More than 3,000 children are involved in this centre, where they practise 62 different sports. In the Ufa district, in the village of Bulgakovo, a modern fitness and recreation complex «Zhemchuzhina» has been opened. It is the only sports complex in the village of 6,000 people.
