Samotlorneftegaz (part of Rosneft's oil production complex) has equipped forestries of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District - Yugra, which manage more than 93% of the region's forest lands, with modern snow and swamp-going vehicles. The project was implemented under an agreement between Rosneft and the Government of the region.

The forestry specialists received 12 special vehicles of domestic production. The self-propelled equipment is adapted to work in harsh climate conditions and will be used for fire patrols, reforestation works, as well as year-round sanitary control of the forest reserves.

The new equipment is characterised by high cross-country ability, manoeuvrability, increased reliability and ease of maintenance. Such characteristics allow the machines to be used in swampy terrain, high snow cover and challenging terrain of hard-to-reach areas of the region.

Rosneft devotes special attention to creating a favourable social environment in the regions where it operates. The Company is actively involved in the socio-economic development of territories and joint environmental projects, including preservation of valuable biological resources and fire safety.

Samotlorneftegaz is working to restore the forest fund in Yugra.  The Company's specialists have planted more than 2 million coniferous seedlings on a total area of approximately 700 hectare.
