Rosneft in cooperation with the government of the Arkhangelsk region presented the Road to the Russian North project. The presentation of the new automobile route was held in the Arkhangelsk Region Government and at three filling stations of the Company located on the M8 Kholmogory motorway. During the project presentation, volunteers held an informative interactive quiz for tourists and a draw for special prizes – tourist travel kits.
Designed specifically for road travellers, the route winds its way through the region’s most iconic and scenic locations. The route from Velsk to Arkhangelsk is 550 km long, with stops it will take four days one way. For car tourists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Vologda it is more convenient to plan a trip on the M8 motorway. There are 13 Rosneft filling stations along the route, where tourists can refuel their cars with guaranteed quality fuel, have a comfortable rest in a cafe and buy goods needed for the journey.
Travellers can make convenient stops in Velsky District, Vinogradovsky and Kholmogorsky Districts, Primorsky District and the city of Arkhangelsk. Car tourists can get acquainted with the unique cultural heritage and traditions of the Russian North, admire the northern nature and settlements. Those who like it can taste the local cuisine and visit the White Sea spas.
Other destinations from Arkhangelsk include visits to caves, sand spits, karst caves and the distinctive northern villages of the Pinezhsky district. To get to know the traditions of Pomor, car travellers can visit authentic villages on the White Sea coast of Onega district and the stone island of Kii in the White Sea.
Thanks to the developed route, tourists will be able to use the time during their trip rationally and visit the main attractions, feel the atmosphere and uniqueness of the Russian North. The route website and chatbot, which collects all the information about the facilities, will help travellers plan an itinerary.
