LLC RN-Uvatneftegaz, a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company, explores and produces hydrocarbons in the Tyumen Region (Uvat District) and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District-Yugra. The company's oil production assets constitute the Rosneft Uvat project, which is one of the Company's top-priority projects.
The first well in the Uvat district was drilled more than 50 years ago, but due to the inaccessibility of the territory, swampy terrain and complex structure of the fields' reservoirs, their development was considered to be unprofitable for a long time. Development of the Uvat project as a new oil province entered an active phase in 2007, and two years later the first oil was produced from the largest fields in the district - Urnenskoye and Ust-Tegusskoye.
Today, RN-Uvatneftegaz has 19 license areas in its asset portfolio, one of which, Ai-Yaunskoye, owned by Rosneft, is operated by the company. The Uvat project covers an area of 25,000 km². Twenty-seven oil fields and one oil and gas condensate field have been discovered here. Crude oil treated to marketable quality is supplied to the trunk oil pipeline system.
In the process of developing hydrocarbon reserves, RN-Uvatneftegaz is implementing the concept of combining small and medium-sized satellite fields into development centers - hubs. Four hubs - Kalchinskiy, Ust-Tegusskiy, Tyamkinskiy and Protozanovskiy - have been established in the Uvat project area and the use of unified production, social and household infrastructure of these hubs increases the economic efficiency of field development.
In 2019, the company implemented a large-scale energy project - three power substations with a total installed capacity of 502 MVA and 320 km of 220 kV power transmission lines were commissioned at the Tyamkinskoye, Protozanovskoye and Ust-Tegusskoye fields. The connection of the company's facilities to the Unified Energy System (UNES) made it possible to fully meet the growing power needs of the Uvat project, as well as to improve the reliability of power supply and the efficiency of operation of the autonomous fields.
Cumulative oil production since the start of the Uvat project has exceeded 140 million tons. The growth in production volumes was due to improved efficiency of geological and technical operations and introduction of advanced oil production technologies: active commissioning of horizontal wells with multistage hydraulic fracturing in the development of tight reserves, commissioning of new fields and areas based on the results of an extensive exploration program, and development of new promising areas.
Development of the Uvat project fields makes a significant contribution to the economic development of the Tyumen Region. More than two thousand employees and a significant number of contractors in the region are working on the project's implementation.
RN-Uvatneftegaz is one of the largest taxpayers in the Tyumen Region. As part of the cooperation agreement between Rosneft and the region, the company actively supports regional social programs, providing assistance to health care, education, sports, and public organizations of indigenous minorities of the North, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and oil industry veterans and extending support to the Uvat district in the field of municipal development.
