About

Samaraneftegaz JSC, an oil production entity of Rosneft in the Samara Region, has been operating since 1936. During this time, the company has produced over 1.3 billion tons of oil and about 86 billion m3 of gas.

The first commercial oil on the territory of the Samara Region was produced in 1936 at drilling rig No. 8 in Syzran district, and in 1937 the first flow with a daily rate of 60 tons came from well No. 10 of the Syzran oil field from a depth of 1020 meters.

The peak oil production was in 1972, when Samara oilmen extracted 35.4 million tons of oil.

Today Samaraneftegaz operates on 132 license areas in the Samara and Orenburg Regions. The company has 134 fields on its balance sheet, of which 129 are under development and 5 are under exploration operations.

A significant part of oil was produced due to optimization of well operation conditions and application of modern methods of enhanced oil recovery - bottom-hole zone treatment and hydraulic fracturing with the use of new technologies.

Special attention is paid to prospecting and exploration drilling, which expands the potential capabilities of the company, constantly and systematically providing it with an increase in reserves.

Over the last five years, the total increase in the company's oil reserves amounted to 127 million tons, which replenishes the volume of produced oil by 228%.

According to the results of 2023, Samaraneftegaz has drilled about 226 thousand meters of rock, almost by 11% more than in 2022. Eighty wells were drilled during production drilling operations.

The most important principles of Samaraneftegaz operations are rational development of natural resources and implementation of advanced technologies to reduce environmental impact. Every year the company increases investments in environmental protection measures, having created modern, high-tech production with minimal environmental impact. The company has implemented a targeted gas program, whereunder gas compressor stations and a multiphase pumping station have been commissioned. Four sites for processing soils with high hydrocarbon content are in operation. Water intake from surface water bodies for injection into reservoirs to maintain reservoir pressure has been completely stopped. In addition, the company pays special attention to improving the reliability of pipelines using new technologies and materials.

At the end of the year, the implementation of the energy saving program resulted in cost savings on fuel and energy resources (FER) in the amount of about RUB 335 million, which is approximately 5.5% of total FER costs.
